As part of our commitment to ensuring the highest level of fire safety in our homes, we’re carrying out inspections to the front doors in 19 of our tall buildings (over 18 metres).
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 makes it a legal duty for landlords to ensure that fire doors and escape doors are correctly installed and adequately maintained to ensure they’re fit for purpose.
So, it’s important that we inspect these doors, to ensure they’re safe, compliant, and effective in protecting our customers in the event of a fire. We’ve commissioned a company called Harmony Fire, to carry out these inspections.
Inspections will begin in January 2021 and Harmony Fire will contact affected customers to arrange a suitable date and time for the inspection. The inspection will take up to 20 minutes and the contractors will be following the latest government coronavirus guidance to ensure safety.
You can find details of the programme here.
We’re written to affected customers and have shared some FAQs. We’re also holding online meetings to give customers a greater understanding of why we’re completing this project and the opportunity to ask any questions. You can view the information shared at these events here.
