VIVID announces One Small Thing as its new charity partner

VIVID, one of the leading housing associations in the south of England, has announced it will be supporting charity, One Small Thing, with Hope Street, its pioneering residential community for women and their children.

The organisation has committed to raise £10k for Hope Street in Southampton through a range of staff fundraising activities including a cycle challenge and a baking competition.

VIVID has decided to work with One Small Thing, after recognising the close ties both organisations have in helping improve people’s life chances and wellbeing. One Small Thing’s Hope Street project provides a purpose-built residential network where women, who are in contact with the justice system, can meet the requirements of their community sentence in a safe and nurturing environment, where their children can live safely with them and they can receive the therapy, treatment and support they need. The charity will launch the first Hope Street house in Southampton and has plans to expand across the country.

With a vision of “more homes, bright futures”, and by its very nature as a business with a social heart, VIVID is committed to giving customers a safe and secure home and providing the foundations for their wellbeing. It works to make a difference to its customers and communities helping them to thrive, and a big part of this is supporting initiatives that make a real difference and impact to people’s lives.

Cathryn Gee, Head of People at VIVID said, “We’re delighted to be working with One Small Thing to support its fantastic project, Hope Street. Our staff have told us having the opportunity to give something back over and above what they do on a daily basis is important to them, and combining our fundraising efforts together means we can achieve more.

“One Small Thing and its project Hope Street was an obvious choice and fit for us. There is much synergy between us as we both provide a safe and secure home for our customers in tandem with support services to help improve their life chances. The work the charity does is vital, and we are proud that we’ve been able to offer our support.

“We’re really looking forward to working with the team and getting involved in lots of fundraising activities!”

Claire Hubbertsey, Chief Executive of One Small Thing said, “We are delighted that VIVID has chosen One Small Thing as its charity partner.  Creating spaces that enable people to thrive matter deeply to us.  Fundraising together will contribute towards our trauma informed services, particularly as we move forward with the development of Hope Street, a residential community for women in Southampton.”
