Low-income households in Hampshire gifted winter care packages

VIVID has teamed up with the Sureserve Foundation and Sureserve Fire & Electrical to deliver 45 Winter Warmer packages to its most vulnerable residents across Hampshire. The packages were donated by Sureserve Fire & Electrical, in partnership with the Sureserve Foundation, and delivered to VIVID’s head office in Portsmouth on 16 November and will be gifted to residents across the county by December.

The Sureserve Foundation is an action-led organisation aiming to fight fuel poverty in communities across the UK and the charitable arm of the Sureserve Group. In one of many partnership projects, the Foundation has provided the winter care packages to Sureserve Fire & Electrical who deliver fire safety compliance services for VIVID and its residents within its properties across the south of England.

With the cost of living and fuel prices increasing, VIVID and the Sureserve Foundation are now working together to support some of the lowest income households identified by VIVID in Hampshire during the winter months.

The parcels include helpful energy efficiency and cost reduction measures such as draft excluder strips, a water saver shower timer, energy advice and guidance, as well as gifts including food vouchers, energy saving light bulbs, blankets and wheat bag warmers.

Carolyn Munns, Head of Property Services at VIVID said: “We’re pleased to be working with the Sureserve Foundation and Sureserve Fire & Electrical on this Winter Warmer project. Too many low-income households experience fuel poverty during the winter months, and this is set to get worse as energy prices and the cost of living continue to rise. Part of our mission is to support our customers during challenging times, so we were delighted when the Sureserve Foundation told us about their winter care packages. These parcels provide useful guidance and advice, including some nice gifts which I'm sure will be of benefit to our customers.”

Alex Spragg, Group Head of Responsible Business for the Sureserve Group & Trustee of the Sureserve Foundation said: “The scale of the challenges facing communities across the UK in relation to fuel poverty is significant. We’re very happy to be working with VIVID and are delighted to be able to assist their residents this winter. Through the creation of value led partnerships, such as this with VIVID and Sureserve Fire & Electrical, we can ensure our communities receive the assistance they need and experience the beneficial impacts each of our organisations is committed to delivering. ”

Gary Putland, Service and Repair Operations Manager for Sureserve Fire & Electrical said: “It has been rewarding to partner with VIVID and deliver winter care packages to their customers. We are all too aware of the challenges that many low-income households experience especially during the winter months. Working alongside clients like VIVID to deliver a supportive culture drives the core values of Sureserve Fire & Electrical and the wider Sureserve Foundation.”
