East Hampshire District Council Cabinet member welcomed to Selborne Park development.

With significant progress having been made on our joint venture Selborne Park development in Alton, we were pleased to welcome Cabinet member for Community Development & Engagement, Councillor Adeel Shah to the site recently.

Identified in the Council’s Local Plan, Selborne Park is being developed in partnership with Foreman Homes and with the benefit of Homes England funding. Once completed, the development will see 242 new homes delivered with 181 of them being affordable, which we will own and manage. 82 new homes across the first two phases of the scheme have already been completed with work now well underway on the third and final phase.

Councillor Adeel Shah, EHDC’s Cabinet member with responsibility for affordable housing said:“ It's fantastic to see the progress being made here at Selborne Park. Although there is no increase to the overall number of homes being built, VIVID have increased the proportion of affordable homes being delivered which is a great windfall for the council. This development will have a positive impact on those in Alton and the wider district that are in need of an affordable home."

Following the visit, Tristan Samuels, Group Development & New Business Director said:“We’re proud to be playing a role in delivering a significant number of much needed new affordable homes across a range of tenures here in Alton.  The visit provided a great opportunity for us to update Councillor Shah on the progress that’s been made at Selborne Park as well to share experiences and insight around affordable housing delivery.”
