Through our charitable arm, VIVID Plus, we’ve supported and funded several local programmes which aim to help young people at risk of getting involved in youth violence and drug related behaviours.
Turnstyle is a local programme that uses combat sports to teach life skills, behaviour change, decision making skills and to build positive relationships. They also work with these young people to identify future goals and set a positive direction for their future.
We provided the initial funding for the organisation to deliver the project in Rushmoor to great success. Since then, they’ve been able to expand, and now run the programme in secondary schools and other community settings across Hampshire. In recognition of their work, the team was also awarded the Hampshire High Sheriff Award.
Today, we’re excited to announce that VIVID Plus will be funding Turnstyle to deliver the programme in a school in Portsmouth later this year.
Pete O’Shea, one of the founders of Turnstyle said: “Thanks to VIVID’s belief in our vision, we have emerged as a leading provider of essential youth provisions in Rushmoor. The journey from a single school to three, with further expansion on the horizon, is a testament to the collaborative spirit and shared commitment to our community’s future.”
Margaret Dodwell, Chief Operating Officer at VIVID, commented: “We regularly invest and support our local communities to help our customers and other residents live better lives. I’m very grateful to the community organisations that work tirelessly to change the outlook for young people.”
