Fareham Borough Council’s Executive member for Homes, Councillor David Foot, visited Titchfield development site. With the land adjacent to Southampton Road having been earmarked for new homes by the Council, the visit provided an opportunity for a progress update to be provided.
The scheme, which is being built for VIVID by its development partner, Hampshire Homes, features 95 affordable homes, with 24 to be available as shared ownership and 71 homes allocated for social rent. Over 50 of the homes have already been completed, with work on the remaining homes to continue over the coming months while some off-site highway improvements are also required in line with the planning permission.
Tristan Samuels, Group Director of Development and New Business, VIVID said:
“Together with Hampshire Homes, we were very pleased to host Councillor Foot and to update him on progress made by the team to deliver new homes on this site, allocated for housing in the Council’s Local Plan. With a significant proportion of social rent homes being delivered here, this scheme will make a positive contribution to helping meet local housing needs.”
Following the site visit, Councillor Foot, Executive Member for Housing commented that:
“Good quality affordable and social housing is always welcome, and this new development will help tremendously with the ever-increasing demand for housing in the Fareham area."
Tom Wallace, Hampshire Homes’ Construction Director who’s leading the project for VIVID, commented:
“It was pleasure to host a visit at the development and to welcome Councillor Foot to the site to view the homes. Now it’s just the final part of the jigsaw in highways works to complete. Looking forward to showcasing the finished development.”
Subject to progress, it’s hoped that the entire development will be completed by Autumn 2024.
