Being part of our customers lives is something VIVID are privileged to have, and it is only fitting that we celebrate a special birthday. Stella Cowley has turned 100, family, friends, staff, and customers of Abbey Court, Popley got together to mark the occasion.
Born 2 March 1923 in Southsea, Portsmouth, Stella spent her childhood travelling Europe as her father was in the Royal Marines. Her early life was filled with music, singing and dancing, something that was to be a recurring theme throughout her whole life.
After meeting her husband, Harold, they ran a small hotel in Polperro, Cornwall for several years, where they had their only son, Steve.
Stella has travelled and lived abroad throughout her life, including Spain and Malta and sadly after losing her husband, Harold, eventually came back to the UK, ending back at Oakridge Towers before moving to Abbey Court in 2018.
Since living at Abbey Court, Stella has thrived, thoroughly enjoying the life and friendships built.
Zoe Brown, Independent Living Team Leader said “Stella is a joy to be around, always singing and smiling. Being able to celebrate such a significant birthday for her is amazing. She looked like she was queen for the day.”
