VIVID’s had a standout year, bucking the trend in what it’s been able to deliver during 2023-24 for its customers and communities, despite a challenging economic and sector environment. It’s driven significant changes in engagement with customers, delivered its highest level of spend in maintaining customers’ homes and communities, and built a record number of new homes.
As part of transforming customer experience, VIVID introduced new, easier methods of contact which have seen quicker responses to customer enquiries and more customers registering and using their online account; it worked with customers to introduce clearer service standards; and made progress with the speed of completing routine repairs. It also invested a record £87.5m repairing, maintaining and improving customers’ homes.
With a vision of “More homes, bright futures” VIVID welcomed over 3,000 new customers and built 1,524 new homes, the most it’s ever delivered in a year, creating new communities and bringing many more affordable homes to the South of England where they’re so needed. This led to it being ranked fifth largest housing association developer in England and first for number of starts on site in Inside Housing’s latest Biggest Builders report.
Mark Perry, VIVID’s Chief Executive, said: “We’re fully committed to improving the level of service and maintaining our homes to the standard that our customers expect. We're also determined to continue building a substantial number of new homes to meet the acute housing need in our area for current and future generations. And we're driven to maintain our financial strength against a backdrop of volatile interest rates, high inflation and a fragile housing market. This really matters to us because we want to be able to continue doing all of this, even in difficult times and for the long-term.”
