On 20 July 2023, Awaab’s Law was formally approved and can be used in a court of law. Awaab’s Law will require landlords to follow new requirements (such as improving the timescales for repairs).
The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) has launched the Awaab's Law Consultation. This consultation seeks views on the proposed requirements and how these will impact residents and landlords.
Residents and social landlords are being encouraged to submit their responses to the consultation. The deadline for responses is Tuesday 5th March 2024.
